Jack Boyce, CATC, MFT-I
Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapy Intern
Six years ago, I began work as a substance abuse counselor. I am currently credentialed as a Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor (CATC). My work in substance abuse treatment also increased my awareness of the significant need for co-occurring treatment of trauma and substance abuse and led me to my current work as a psychotherapist.
In 2014 I obtained my Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marital and Family Therapy. Since that time I have worked providing psychotherapy (supervised by Victor Bloomberg LCSW) to clients at The Fellowship Center, Inc. (TFC), a residential substance abuse treatment facility.
Trauma and addiction go hand in hand, and my work at TFC focuses on treatment of both my clients’ trauma and their substance abuse.
To further my ability to treat clients with trauma and PTSD, I have obtained training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) treatment. EMDR is a powerful evidenced-based treatment for PTSD and trauma.
In 2017, I also began working in private practice (supervised by Tina Casola LMFT) here at First Alarm Wellness, with a continuing emphasis on treatment of trauma and addictions.
I believe my clients all have unrealized strengths and untapped emotional resilience. I want to help them bring those qualities to their everyday lives.
